[Physical Appearance]

Reno stands at about 5'8" or 9" tall, exactly 125lbs in weight, and has a very thin build, yet it is not unattractively skinny, maybe more "lean" and slightly toned. His face is sharp and pale, with a defined jaw and two tattoos marring each of his cheeks, marks given to him when he was nothing more than a pet project. His eyes are a fiery Mako blue colour, clear, almost like water, and glowing with incredible energy. His rebellious hair, once a dark blond, has naturally dyed itself a bright fierce crimson colour by all the experiments and chemicals he has endured, and he ties it back in a sleek ponytail reaching just below his shoulderblades, the rest of which it messed and ruffled and spiked with wax either deliberately or through his own lazyness, with longer locks that fall over onto his face. He has two rings piercing his left earlobe; his right eyebrow is pierced with a dual-balled labret and the left side of his lower lip with a ring with a ball on it, all in black titanium. There is a tattoo of a barcode on his lower left back, again, from when he was an experiment, and a number. He still speaks with a thick slum drawl.


[Biography]

Reno is renowned by people usually for his mouth, as he always has a sharp cocky comeback and can be foul- and dirty-mouthed. He acts very casual and laid back at times, though his hot temper and energy really sear when he is on a mission or assignment, which he thoroughly enjoys whether he's in the mood to admit it or not. He has a habit of becoming very cold and uncaring and snide at times, especially when in a bad mood, or someone crosses him. He can also be quite sarcastic and bitter. Catch him in a good mood, though, and he acts a lot different; he can quite easily become the life and soul of the party and have a laugh and a joke, though with a few drinks inside him he can either be more fun and outgoing, or turn back into the asshole he can be and get violent.

When Reno feels fear or anger or shame, his natural instinct is to hide and fight it with his cocky mouth and arrogance, which often lands him in even more trouble. He has a LOT of pride too, which means he will hardly ever show his defeat or back down in an argument, and if people dent that pride, they can expect him to fight back, either verbally or physically. He is cocky and overconfident, and has the natural instinct to rebel rather than conform, and doesn't usually care what others think of him. He enjoys killing a lot of the time, as he loves the power surge it gives him and the adrenaline rush, though deep down inside there are times he has felt regret and hatred for himself; he is only human, after all.


[History]

Reno was born in the slums in Midgar. His mother was a prostitute and he never knew the identity of his father. At the age of six, he was kidnapped by Shin-Ra troops to be used as a science experiment (the Shin-Ra had a habit of taking youngsters right off the slum streets, as most of them were orphans and no one would miss them and question their whereabouts, which meant no one would discover they were being used for cruel and extreme experiments deep within Shin-Ra) and was shoved straight onto a project centred around the effects of Mako on the body, along with the Jenova theory. When they found out he had a living parent, the first thing they did was clone him, and send the clone back to the slums to kill any suspicion as to where her son had gone. This also gave them a place to go back to and start again if the experiments failed.

The real Reno remained in Hojo’s clutches for ten years, branded a science experiment, and a part of the Mako treatment tests and the Jenova theory tests. He received many different treatments and surgeries, proved many theories, and was eventually made a Turk, which was a serious step up the ladder from Hojo’s little pet project. Most of his memories of his past were wiped, either as a defense mechanism by his own body, or by Hojo’s drugs, and pretty much all he remembered was living in the labs and being tested on, the more gruesome and horrific details hiding themselves away in the back of his mind where he couldn’t remember them at all, just waiting to be set free again at any moment…

Reno lived as a Turk for the next four years, Shin-Ra falling when he was eighteen, meaning he and the Turks and the President had to move out to the Healin Lodge and deal with Geostigma’s threat upon their most superior. Little did the others around him know that toward the climax of the silver-haired men’s threat on the planet, Reno himself found a small bruise on his thigh… the beginnings of Geostigma from his Mako-clogged body. He only had to put up with its effects a few weeks before the rains fell, and it was gone.

Just after the climax, people began disappearing. The portal meant to suck Reno out from the world, where he resided in Healin… but accidentally took the clone who was back in the slums, living out his life, and implanted him with the real Reno’s memories during the transferal. The clone lived in the new world for a while, before it “realized” it had made a mistake and the Reno there was a clone, and making a quick switch, the real Reno arriving in the new world just as the clone disappeared, without a clue as to where he was or that, according to everyone there, he had “already been living there for a while”.
